Fieldside is a comfortable holiday home with a sun trap patio and garden, off a quiet lane between Freshwater and Totland, in the West Wight, one of the prettiest and unspoilt parts of the Island. Walking distance to Totland and Freshwater Bays, and easy access to areas of outstanding beauty and the unspoilt Heritage Coast.
An easy 20-minute walk will take you to:
- Totland or Freshwater Bays, across the fields and lanes;
- The Tennyson Downs, with spectacular views;
- The local shops at Freshwater; &
- Nearby pubs and tea-rooms.
Totland Bay’s sheltered beach of sand and pebble is good for swimming;
Compton Bay, 3.5 miles away, is on the coast road between Freshwater Bay and Brook, with good swimming, surfing and body-boarding from a sweeping sandy beach, as well as kite-surfing.
Both beaches have good rock pools at low tide.
Nearby is Alum Bay with its famous coloured sands, and
the Needles Amusement Park with chairlift, boat rides, lighthouse, amusements and glass making.
Wthin easy driving distance are Yarmouth harbour, Blackgang Chine, castles and much more.
Totland and Freshwater have 2 supermarkets, local shops, banks, library, tea rooms, indoor swimming pool.
The house is in a quiet semi-rural location with a small stream at the front and a wild bank beyond a pretty garden, overlooking fields.
Accommodation:
The property is centrally heated with wooden floors downstairs;
3 bedrooms sleep up to 6 people, comprising 1 kingsize bed, twin beds and a pair of bunk beds.
Features:
The spacious living room is light and airy, with a gas fire, and looks out onto the garden. Flatscreen TV with Freeview and a DVD player are provided in the living room, with games and books; The dining table seats 6 comfortably;
The kitchen is well equipped with a gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine;
Downstairs cloakroom/toilet with wash basin;
The large master bedroom has a king-size bed, sunny aspect and views across the fields to the Downs;
The 2nd comfortable bedroom has views towards Freshwater;
The 3rd bedroom has bunk beds;
The bathroom has a bath and over-bath shower, washbasin and toilet;
Outside is a pretty flower garden and patio with seating. A gate leads out to the rear, with further grounds and car parking.
Facilities / Practicalities
Gas central heating with gas fire in the sitting room;
All gas and electricity costs are included;
Private parking at the rear of the property;
Storage space in garage can be made available for bikes, boats, etc on request;
One small pet welcome, by prior arrangement and at a small additional charge;
Bed linen and towels can be provided. Please bring your own beach towels;
This is a non-smoking property;

Freshwater is a village in the south west of the Isle Of Wight, England. It is situated in the area called 'Back of the Wight' and is near to Norton, Yarmouth, Colwell Bay and Totland and is one of around 50 towns or villages in Isle Of Wight in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest main cities are Southampton (population 234,224), Portsmouth (population 187,056), and Winchester (which has a population of 41,420 according to the 2001 Census).
Freshwater Bay is near to Freshwater and is popular with tourists to the island. If you're looking to stay on the Isle of Wight this area comes highly recommended.
